February 20: CRCA Family Day Skate

ICE CONDITIONS PERMITTING!!
Looking for something to do for the Family Day holiday? The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority presents its annual Family Day Skate on Monday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a great chance for the entire family to come to Kingston’s largest natural ice rink at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area and enjoy one of Canada’s great time-honoured outdoor winter recreational activities (weather permitting.) The fire will be going in the warming hut by the rink or you can drop by the Outdoor Centre for a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Skate rentals for all ages will also be available at the Outdoor Centre.

The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is located on Division Street just two kilometres north of Highway 401. Entry fees are: $5.50 per person for adults and children over 12, and $3 per person for children 12 and under, to a maximum fee of $14 per car. Annual passes are available for $80 per year.

February 22: Princess of Wales Own Regiment 2587 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps

The greatest youth program Canada has to offer is FREE TO JOIN for kids from 12-18.  We meet at the PWOR Armouries at 100 Montreal St every Wednesday night at 6:30pm until May 2017 (excluding holidays). Families are invited to come down on any Wed night to visit us and learn more!

Instilling valuable life skills & leadership training through fun activities and instruction.  Expert training in disciplines such as Marksmanship, Precision Drill Team, Orienteering & Biathlon. All aspects of Army Cadets are provided free to cadets including uniforms, activities, trips and summer camps.

February 25: Ongwanada invites Caregivers of people with Developmental Disabilities to new Support Group

In partnership with the City of Kingston and United Way KFL&A, Ongwanada are launching a new support group for caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities. The group will meet monthly from 9:30 a.m – 11 a.m. at Balsam Grove School located at eighty-five Grosvenor Court starting February 25. Respite Support will be provided to ensure Caregivers can fully benefit from the support group while their loved one with developmental disabilities is being properly supported.
