Finally write that story you’ve been thinking about, with Kingston WritersFest!

Kingston WritersFest presents five days of onstage events featuring some 60 authors from across the country and around the world Wednesday, September 27 to Sunday, October 1 at Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. Special off site events will also take place at the Delta and Grand Theatre.

This fall the Festival welcomes Kathy Reichs, Adam Gopnik, Linden MacIntyre, Carol Off, Tim Cook, Kathleen Winter, Charlotte Gray, Terry O’Reilly, Linda Spalding, Kyo Maclear, Rosanna Deerchild, and Lee Maracle along with the best of this year’s new writers: local, regional, and national.

“I think this year’s line-up reflects the many paths available to us as Canadians to understand ourselves in the context of our shared history, and presents some of Canada’s very best writers of fiction and non-fiction,” said artistic director, Barbara Bell.

In the past nine years, Kingston WritersFest has established itself not only as a prime Kingston cultural event, but as one of the top Canadian literary festivals. A highlight of last evening’s festival launch was the announcement of Michael Chabon with his acclaimed new novel Moonglow, for the festival’s renowned International Marquee event at The Grand Theatre.

Kingston WritersFest – five days of onstage events, September 27 to October 1, 2017, featuring some 60 authors from across the country and around the world – is committed to promoting awareness and appreciation of the literary arts in all their forms and nurturing literary expression within the Kingston community. With inspiring events that encourage the audience to listen, learn, experience, and try, Kingston WritersFest aims to delight, surprise, and engage readers of every age and taste. Explore the many literary pathways that lead to our personal and collective understanding of ourselves and our place in our nation and the world.
