Remembrance Holiday

Remembrance Day is a holiday for some people…including people who work for the city of Kingston.  That means there is no garbage or recycling collection today.  Your pickup day moves to the day after your normal day for the rest of this week.

All city offices are closed today.

Memorial Centre School

Kingston city Councillor Jim Neill says it would take six years to clear all of the hurdles required to build a new high school at the Memorial Centre.

Neill says city staff has gone over the timeline and he says it’s just one more reason the school shouldn’t be built at the Memorial Centre.

Next week…City Councillor Peter Stroud will introduce a motion to have council reconsider its decision..

A group of citizens has launched a website that includes a call for people to take a petition door to door and lobby city Councillors to vote in favour of considering the site.
