Sweet Prince Wendel is ready to find a family of his very own. After arriving at the shelter as a stray, poor Prince Wendel was very nervous of all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people. After a bit of time and treats he started to warm up to the staff and adventure out to visit them. He spent some time working with our staff in a calm and structured manner. He is still quite wary of people, and needs time to introduce himself to you in his own calm and slow style. Prince Wendel would do best in a home where he can approach new people at his own pace, and it would be detrimental for him to be placed into situations that will make him uncomfortable. This poor pooch is utterly terrified, so we need a patient family who will take things slow. Prince Wendel has shown some anxiety and finds his cage to be his safe place to go therefore potential adopters will want to research a bit about how to work with a nervous nelly and will want to work with him on crate training to provide the best environment for him to feel safe in. A crate is a must for this handsome fella. With patience and kindness, his new family will be rewarded with a loyal, loving, and dedicated companion. Prince Wendell may enjoy the company of another dog as long as they are relaxed, laidback and not rambunctious. Are you looking for a true rescue pup? If you’re a first time dog family, with humans over the age of 8, who can work with Prince Wendel on his behavioural quirks, visit the shelter to chat more with our Adoptions staff.
