Missing Teen

Kingston Police are still looking for information on the whereabouts of a 16 year old girl, who was last seen on July 30th.

Kayla Hartwick is known to frequent the Cataraqui Town Centre and downtown area.

She is described as white, 5-feet tall, 140 pound, with long brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kingston Police on their non-emergency line.

 

Prison Farm Program

The Correctional Service of Canada’s farm employment program has officially been relaunched, with a ceremony at Collins Bay Institution.

The farms provide on-the-job training, vocational certification, and employability skills that will support offenders in their re-integration.

A small herd of stocker cows were introduced at Joyceville Institution in May, and six dairy cows were added at Collins Bay Institution in June.

A dairy goat herd is planned for 2020.

 

Flu Workshop

KFL and A public health wil be offering a Flu Preparedness workshop today.

The interactive workshop will bring health care providers together to develop local plans to prepare for a severe flu season.

The goal is to create a coordinated action plan.

 

Flow of Life Equipment

The Kingston Humaine Society has some new potentially life-saving equipment & measures in place

The Flow of Life allows the society to transfer cool air from one vehicle to another and provide water to an animal if left in a hot car

OPP Inspector Shu-vaun Hoyle will also serve as the Animal Welfare Enforcement Officer with the Humaine Society, which was made official yesterday
