For the seventh week in a row, the #1 song on the Billboard Canada Country Airplay chart is Luke Combs’ “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”

In so doing, it sets a new record for the song with the longest time at #1 – 7 weeks! And it’s also the new record for the most consecutive weeks at #1 (again, 7).

Since the chart began in 2013, the records for most weeks and most consecutive weeks at #1 had been 6 weeks, in a tie between Dierks Bentley & Elle King’s “Different For Girls” and Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man.” Those records have stood for the last three years…until now.

While it doesn’t change his position in the list of artists with the most weeks at #1, it does help Luke narrow the lead. Blake Shelton holds the top spot at 39 total weeks, followed by Luke Bryan at 30, Thomas Rhett with 29, Florida Georgia Line in fourth place with 22 weeks, Keith Urban next at 20, and Combs in sixth place at 17 total weeks.

It’d be OK if Luke celebrates with champagne, but don’t be surprised if he sticks with “ice-cold, long-neck beer.” After all, that’s what got him into making chart history.
