As part of Saturday’s Global Citizen and The World Heath Organization’s music event, One World: Together at Home, which raised funds for COVID-19 relief, Taylor Swift sang a stripped down version of Soon You’ll Get Better, a song off her Lover album.

Soon You’ll Get Better is a personal song about Taylor’s family and her mother’s cancer diagnosis.  Back in August, Taylor opened up about the record and why she hadn’t performed it live, “That was really, really hard to write, and it was just a family decision whetehr to even put it on the album.  We, as a family, decided to put this on the album, and it’s something I’m so proud of, but it’s just really hard.  I can’t sing it.  It’s hard to just emotionally deal with that song.”  Looks like Taylor had a change of heart and she did an amazing job!

Less than 48 hours prior to Taylor’s performance, she announced her upcoming ‘Lover Fest East/West’ music event was to be postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.  On Friday, Taylor tweeted, “I’m so sad I won’t be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision.  Please, please stay healthy and safe.  I’ll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what’s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us.”
