April 20 – June 17: Playing with Fire: A Flameworking Exhibition

Kingston Glass Studio & Gallery is proud to present its current exhibition Playing with Fire , featuring the work of glass artists Dan Sullivan, Emma Gerard, and Matthew Crossman. This show will highlight various skills, techniques and styles used in contemporary flameworking, a method of forming objects from rods and tubes of glass that are heated under a flame until malleable. As the Gallery’s first flameworking exhibition, Playing with Fire will introduce visitors not only to new artists but also to new ways of working with glass. Please visit the Gallery to view this exciting work and support the arts in Kingston! Kingston Glass Studio & Gallery 56 Queen St. Kingston (613) 547-9149 info@kgsg.ca www.kingstonglassgallery.com

May 30: KFPL Live Presents: Shopify 101

Do you have an idea for a great product to sell online, but don’t know how to start? Whether you already have an existing business or are still in the idea stage, you may want to consider using the Shopify e-commerce platform. KFPL is pleased to offer an introductory workshop, Shopify 101, at our Sydenham branch beginning at 7 p.m. From naming your Shopify store, adding your theme, creating digital products, to how to ship your product and get paid for your sales, this 90-minute workshop with Shopify guru Carissa Cosgrove will give you the fundamentals to launch your online business. [One note: if you already have a Shopify store up and running this introductory workshop is not for you — instead, please email kingston@shopify.com for notification about the next-level workshop.] This will be a hands-on workshop, so make sure you bring along your laptop or tablet (and your charger). WiFi is available on site. The Shopify 101 workshop is open to adults. There is no admission charge, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance at events.kfpl.ca or by phone at (613) 549-8888) as of 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 18.
