October 12: Melos concert in Kingston

Da Vinci to Galileo-Italy’s Inquiring Minds and Inquisitions, 15-17th centuries. Hear heavenly music and astonishing readings from the world of Italy’s most inspired, courageous and controversial minds, from the late Renaissance to the early Baroque. Hear sacred music and secular songs that would have been familiar to the great minds of 1450-1650. Melos choir, soli and period instruments perform music of Palestrina, Vincenzo Galilei, Andrea Gabrieli and others. This concert is inspired by the PumpHouse Exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci: Relentless Curiosity”. Friday October 12, 2018, 7:30 pm, in St George’s Cathedral. October 13: CRCA TD Tree Days Tree Planting Event at Lemoine Point

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority and the Friends of Lemoine Point are hosting their annual fall tree planting session, in partnership with TD Canada Trust, at the Lemoine Point Conservation Area, and are seeking volunteers to help in this important project. Participants are asked to meet at the south parking lot, off Front Road, to join TD employees, CRCA staff and the Friends of Lemoine Point in planting trees, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Volunteers are reminded to bring a shovel, work gloves and their energy. They should also dress appropriate to the weather conditions. There are entrances off Front Road and Coverdale Drive. There is no entrance fee. October 13: Coffee Chat for Kidney Cancer Patients and Caregivers

Kidney Cancer Canada is hosting a Coffee Chat from 2:30-4:30 PM at the Cavalier Room in the Travel Lodge at 2360 Princess Street, in Kingston, Ontario. Come, have a coffee/tea on us and meet other kidney cancer patients and caregivers in your area who are going through the same health issues. At the same time catch up on the latest in the treatment of kidney cancer. You will also meet Karen, a Board Member from Kidney Cancer Canada. We are very much looking forward to chatting with you.
