Are you an active family, living in a rural or suburban area with a fenced in yard? Winchester may be the boy for you! He is a sweet guy that loves his treats and will do anything for them. His food driven instinct is very strong and will sometimes override his training so Winchester needs an experienced owner to show him proper manners and how to deal with his food guarding tendencies. Winchester would be most comfortable in a home without children under the age of 14 years. He has lots of fun energy and loves to spend his days playing in the snow and showing his sweet side by cozying up at the end of a long day. We have learned from Winchester’s stay here that he does not enjoy the company of other dogs, a home where he can be spoiled and the center of attention would be his ideal home. Positive reinforcement is the best way to train Winchester – he is very food-motivated! He is receptive to training and although his hound nose can direct him into trouble, or the meal on your table, we believe with the consistency and love he needs, he would make an excellent companion. If you are in search of a rescue dog and match the criteria that would make Winchester feel right at home, then drop by the shelter to meet this handsome boy today! He is a VIP member – his adoption fee is 25% less!
