Husband and Wife Busted

 

A husband and wife have been busted for drug trafficking in Kingston.

Search warrants were executed at two residences on Curtis Crescent and a garage on MacDonnell Street north of Concession Street on Wednesday.

They seized prescription pills, heroin, cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamines with a street value of $8,600.  They also seized over $4,000 cash.

42 year old Timothy Orr and 45 year old Kim Orr of Kingston have been charged with trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

 

Man Threatens Mother

 

A scary incident for a Kingston woman involving her 33 year old son.

Kingston Police have charged the man with threatening his mother with a pair of butcher knives in her bedroom on Tuesday morning.  He cut up an item in the room and left.  The woman barricaded herself in and called police.  The man was arrested without a struggle when police arrived.

 

Impaired and Belligerent

 

Kingston Police say the driver was impaired and belligerent and so was one of his passengers.

A 27 year old man has been charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample after a vehicle almost hit a police cruiser on Colborne Street on Tuesday afternoon.

His passenger faces a charge of public intoxication after yelling at police for stopping them for having a few drinks.

 

Rosseau Found

 

A 72 year old man from Napanee has been found.

Napanee OPP issued a plea for help from the public in locating Michael Rosseau early Wednesday morning.  He had left his home in Napanee Tuesday morning and didn’t return.

Police say he’s now been located – but haven’t provided any details.

 

City – Report Card

 

A report on Kingston’s strategic priorities says the city is right on target with 95 per cent of its key strategic initiatives trending in the desired direction.

Chief Administrative Officer, Gerard Hunt, says highlights include reaching the household waste diversion goal of 60 per cent three years early; the largest increase in transit ridership in the country; and the city was named the number one small city in North America for foreign investment.

Napanee – FireRein

 

The federal government has announced a $325,000 grant for a Napanee company that has created a new environmentally friendly firefighting product.

Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio announced the funding at FireRein in Napanee yesterday.

The startup company has created a product called Eco-Gel.

The company has also received financial support from Natural Products Canada.

Hometown Hockey

 

Rogers Hometown Hockey will be bring the national spotlight to Belleville this weekend.

Festivities will start in downtown Belleville at noon tomorrow with live music and autograph signings featuring former NHL’ers Andrew Raycroft and Kyle Wellwood.

The TransCanada Highwaymen will perform on Sunday and the NHL game Sunday night features Edmonton and Anaheim.
