Police – Aberdeen Street

Kingston Police say they are disappointed with the behaviour displayed on Saturday in the Aberdeen Street area during a Homecoming gathering of up to 12 thousand people.

Police say the majority of people were respectful – but there were numerous incidents where they were not.  Police issued 109 provincial offences, two criminal charges were laid, and numerous warnings were given.

A 20-year-old man from Toronto is facing criminal charges after jumping on the roof of a police cruiser on Division Street.  A crowd was cheering him on. He ran but was tackled a short distance away.

Police are looking for the individuals who trashed a Red Bull vehicle when it ran out of free drinks.  They are also looking for the man who assaulted a female police officer. Police say onlookers took video, encouraged the man and nobody intervened to help the officer.
