Leading up to the season premiere of American Idol, we heard that things got real emotional after an audition. We didn’t know who, but we watched with anticipation on Sunday for that moment.

Enter Grace Kinstler, 20-years-old from Boston. Her audition was emotional right from the jump because she had mentioned her father unexpectedly passed away last year. She always had a dream of auditioning with her father by her side, so this audition was for him!

After her audition, the judges compared her to some of the greatest in American Idol history!
