Life is great…and it’s even better when you share it with outstanding people.

I’m grateful for a few things over the past 10 days, including spending time friends (including super fun outdoor fire night and BAKED POTATO BAR!), spending time with lots of DOGS (who are also my friends, and who we don’t deserve because they are sweet angels), and I’m back in the gym and lifting heavier again thanks to my coach Braedon.

I find as I approach 50 that my body hurts a lot more, I’m more tired, and I’m sure not recovering as fast as I used to…BUT, it’s important to be grateful for wherever you’re at in your health and fitness journey. My mom, Carole Farrell, is a great testament to this. After living most of her adult life as a fitness instructor and the “Jane Fonda” of the Ajax Community Centre, she is still in great shape today. Even now that she’s retired, she goes to fitness classes regularly and continues to walk every day. She is in better shape than people 30 years younger than her. I’m hoping that some of that will just be genetic and passed on to me…but just in case…I’ll keep training!

Remember…if you don’t take care of your body, where will you LIVE?!
